| Suicide Prevention
Partnership Grantmaking Goals |
The Suicide Prevention Partnership’s goal is
to reduce suicide and suicidal behavior in the United
States.
The organizations that we ask to apply demonstrate
that they will carry out projects to:
Help
to reduce suicide and suicidal behavior through a
specific intervention
Build
public awareness that suicide is preventable
Prevent
and respond to suicidal behavior
Encourage
help-seeking in an at-risk group
Reduce risk factors or increase protective factors for suicide, or
Increase
professional competence in assessing risk and working
with suicidal individuals.
| Invitation-Only
Approach to Grantmaking |
The Suicide Prevention Partnership has limited funds
for grantmaking, and the Trustees recently decided
that the foundation will move to an invitation-only
process. We realize that we cannot accomplish our
goals on our own with grants —working with contract
agencies is our primary approach.
The Partnership will invite specific nonprofits
to apply based on the organization’s demonstrated
expertise related to suicide prevention. The Partnership
does not accept unsolicited applications.
